This was the LARGEST family session I have ever done to-date! 13 people – 8 adults and 5 children all under the age of 3 years old! This session was not only a great learning opportunity for how to manage that many people for a family photo session, but it was a lot of fun seeing how well these 4 families get along with each other! It was clear right away that all the cousins are best friends (and they looked like they all could have been siblings!).

Audra reached out to me a few weeks ago after she got her hair cut by Greg at The Elsewhere Salon, my amazingly talented hair stylist friend! Audra said she and her siblings wanted to surprise their mom for Christmas with a big family picture that she could hang in her new house. I love when photo sessions are gifted to people or when families have their picture taken as a surprise for someone else. I think it’s such an awesome gift opportunity so I was honored when Audra asked me to document her big family! She chose Piers Park in East Boston as a location for her session and I think it made for the perfect background! All of the families were so beautifully coordinated – it felt like I was doing a magazine spread! Now that it’s well after Christmas, I can finally share this family session! 🙂

I absolutely love the images we captured of each family individually and then of course, the big group family shots! Those were not easy to get everyone looking at the camera, especially when you have 5 kids under the age of 3, but we gave it our best attempt and I love the way they came out! Plus, the adorable shots of all the kid cousins sitting together on the bench (makes my heart melt!) and the one of them sitting on the grass! What you don’t see in those pictures is 8 adults behind me trying to get their kids’ attention by all singing “The Itsy, Bitsy Spider” in unison! I’m sure everyone else at the park thought we were all totally nuts, but you know what? So. Worth. It. I had such a blast at this family session and I hope you all enjoy the photos as much as I do!
