This might just be the most fun collaboration I’ve ever been a part of! After doing this shoot, I’m now a firm believer in dog birthday parties, especially when it’s styled as beautifully as this one, and of course, there has to be a cake smash at the end! When Christina of Tails and Sails reached out to me about her vision for a styled shoot for Stella’s 3rd birthday, I was so pumped! I love all things dog photography and this sounded beyond adorable. And it’s important to note, that I had no idea Christina and her husband were planning on getting another puppy that would also be involved in the shoot. So once I heard they were getting another black lab puppy named Luna who was going to be included, I began counting down the days until the shoot!

The scene came together absolutely beautifully! The Charlestown Navy Yard was the perfect city backdrop with the boats and docks all around us. Colleen of Grey Lady Revelry Co put together a stunning scene for Stella’s 3rd birthday filled her beautiful lavender, blush pink, and blue flowers. Christina made gorgeous monogrammed scarves and bowties for her two ladies, Stella and Luna, to match the scene perfectly! Plus, Christina herself looked radiant in her white dress! And we can’t forget the cake made for Stella by Lally Pups! One of the best parts of the shoot was when Stella was finally allowed to eat the cake and of course, she LOVED it! The other best part was Luna sitting so pretty in the basket of flowers, but who doesn’t love puppies in flower-filled baskets?!
