I am so excited to share this special engagement session! I’m not even sure where to begin, so I’m just going to start with how much I love this couple! Tina and David are the best. I love every chance I get to hang out with these two and I always leave them feeling so mad that we don’t hang out more! Tina, David, and I all graduated from Bates together and we were all members of the soccer teams. Tina and David lived in the same house senior year, which was also the home to many of the men’s and women’s soccer parties in the fall. I’ll never forget on Sunday after a soccer party, a few of us were driving to go apple picking and Tina told us she and David were dating! Gahh, we were all so excited and now flash forward 6 years later, we just did their engagement session! So needless to say, when Tina and David asked me to be their wedding photographer, I legit started crying as I read the email. I am always so honored any time a couple invites me to be a part of their wedding day, but with this couple, I was a little bit more emotional. I think it was a combination of their email coming at a time in my photography career where I was starting to realize that my dream job was actually becoming a reality and also, it really hit me that my passion in life allows me to be such a special part of my close friends’ wedding day! I’ve seen Tina and David’s love story from the beginning and now I get the opportunity to capture the way these two love each other through my images. I’m also just a pretty emotional person, so if you add that in there too, I guess what I’m saying is that I absolutely love my job and the way it allows me to serve others, including my close friends!! Sorry for the sappy rant!

For Tina and David’s engagement session, we first met at Appleton Farms before deciding to go a little further down the road to Julia Bird Reservation to hopefully find more foliage. We pulled off to the side of the road and found this gem of a spot with amazing colors and the best light! Then we drove over to Cranes Beach to end their engagement session with an awesome pink sunset! Also, I need to take a minute to talk about what rock stars Tina and David are. Tina ran the Chicago marathon two days before their engagement session and was supposed to fly back to Boston the morning of their engagement session. Instead, her flight was delayed and she landed only two hours before we were supposed to meet! In those two hours, Tina drove home from the airport, showered and got ready, and was still on time to meet me in Ipswich! And she looked gorgeous! See, rock star! I called her on my way to Appleton Farms to see if she wanted to meet later, but she was so calm and said she’d be fine, whereas, I, on the other hand, would’ve been freaking out (and probably still not able to walk from the marathon) if I was in her shoes! AND because Tina was in Chicago for the entire long weekend and David was in Boston and she got in so late from her flight, they didn’t coordinate their outfits ahead of time! But they ended up matching SO WELL! Gahh, love these two!

I seriously have so many new all-time favorite engagement session images from these two! It was really difficult to choose my favorites because I love so many of them. They were so natural and so freaking cute together – they made it incredibly easy to document their love! I can’t WAIT to do this all over again with all of your friends and family next August at Sheady Acres in VT! But until then, scroll to see all of my favorite images of these two Bates College sweethearts!
