I am so excited to share images from my first official dog photoshoot in Maine! Back when I was first starting my business, every time I went to Maine for vacation at Higgins Beach, I used to go down to the beach once dogs were allowed after 5pm. I’d walk around and start taking portraits of all the dogs that would be there, practicing how to use my camera. So when my friend and one of the best wedding photographers I know, Kelsey of Back Bay Bride, recently added a new black lab puppy to her family and I was so EXCITED when she reached out for me to take pictures while Luna was still a puppy!! I was planning a trip to Maine for the 4th of July so the timing worked out perfectly to squeeze in a quick photoshoot with this adorable family. And Kelsey chose to do the session at one of their favorite beaches (and mine!! back at the location where my dog photography all started!!) Higgins Beach. 

Their puppy, Luna, was even cuter in person than all of the instagram stories I had previously seen her in! She was a little sand monster and had so much fun digging and rolling around in the sand! She was such a little ball of energy, but Curtis, being the most adorable dog dad there is (he sat in the car to keep Luna company while Kelsey and I had a drink to catch up before the photoshoot) even took her for a quick run during the session. Even though this was just a mini session, I seriously could’ve taken pictures of them all day! I had so much fun during this photoshoot – plus the night ended with the most beautiful sunset.
