Can dog cake smashes be a thing please?! Let’s be real, every dog deserves to have their cake and eat it too! Over the past two years, Luna and Stella’s birthdays in the Charlestown Navy Yard have been some of my all-time favorite dog shoots. They’re so creative, fun, and not to mention, beautifully styled! From Stella’s 3rd birthday, to Luna’s 1st Birthday, to now Luna turning 2. My friend Christina, the owner of Tails ‘N Sails, truly outdoes herself with the set design and this year was no exception! 

We had the most beautiful May evening for a photoshoot on our favorite dock in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Christina put together a beautiful scene with the gorgeous balloons, a doggie cake from an amazing local boutique dog bakery Dog Eat Cake, and of course, a matching sear sucker Tails ‘N Sails scarf! Christina makes the most gorgeous scarves for every occasion. They are the perfect gift to pamper your pup for no reason at all or for your upcoming photoshoot! I have been admiring the cakes that Sarah, the owner and lead baker of Dog Eat Cake for a long time! Her cakes are so beautiful and festive. As you can see from the photos, Luna LOVED the cake and ate it so quickly! Plus, it smelled so good that Christina and I wanted to eat it too. 🙂 Sarah also makes treats, cupcakes, and doghnuts that you definitely need to check out!
