Hi! I'm Lauren, a Wedding and Dog Photographer based in Boston, MA. I'm originally from Pennsylvania, went to college in Maine (Yeah Bates College!), and now call Boston my home. I moved here 4 years ago to live with my best friends even though I didn't have a job and I'm so glad I did because I've grown to love this city more than I ever could've imagined! My other passion in life is teaching and I currently work in Special Education at a local high school. Teaching and photography have allowed me to connect with so many incredible people and I hope I will get the chance to meet you too!
Growing up, I was always the friend who took a digital camera everywhere we went. I would say I'm a pretty sentimental person so I always had this feeling that it was my responsibility to make sure every moment was captured! Now flash forward from my childhood days all the way to my college graduation, when I decided to move to Boston without a job (really not sure what I was thinking!). After exploring multiple different career paths trying to figure out life after a liberal arts education, I figured out one thing for sure - I was not cut out for a 9-5pm job. I knew I loved teaching and coaching, so I began to pursue opportunities in those fields, but I still always had this nagging feeling that something was missing.
I've always loved taking pictures, but knew absolutely nothing about taking a properly exposed picture, what kind of gear to buy, and with a Pyschology major, I knew even less about running a business. So I began spending endless hours on Google trying to learn everything I could about photography. I bought my first DSLR camera, offered free shoots on Craigslist (Craigslist, I know!), and practiced on my friends and parents every chance I could get. Finally after years of dreaming about being a professional photographer, I made my business official in 2015 and I have finally found what I'm meant to do with my life! I feel so lucky to have my dream job and I am so inspired by all of the amazing couples, wonderful families, and lovable dogs I have the opportunity to photograph every single day! :)
• Handwritten notes
• Gin and tonics any time of year
• Flannels (some might say I have too many, but I know it's not nearly enough)
• Movie marathons on a rainy day
• Surprise visits!
• Tootsie, my best girl AND dog photography inspiration (even though she refuses to ever look at the camera)
• The heart eyes emoji all day, everyday 😍😍😍
• To-do lists
• My Mini Polaroid Camera!
• My always supportive best friends and family! I wouldn't be where I am today without them!
Being a Photographer is more than just a "job" to me. It's a dream come true! Everyday I am excited that I get to call this my career because I have the opportunity to share my passion with others. I believe it is such an honor to capture your wedding day and I promise never to take that privilege lightly. Even though you might be entering my life as a stranger, I know you will be staying in it as a friend. :)
I understand that every couple has their own unique story, and I would be honored to capture all those moments that will serve as timeless reminders of your love for one another. While I like to capture moments as they candidly unfold, I am also unafraid to jump in and set up a shot that I know you'll cherish forever. On your wedding day, I will be there documenting the laughs, the tears, the love, the joy, and everything in-between all as your friend and biggest fan.
Bright, dreamy images that will make you smile for years to come.
A joyful experience with more than just a photographer you meet once.
A lot of exclamation points in my emails! :)
A sense of ease and comfort in front of the camera.
That I will cry at your wedding!
