GAHHH! This is the first proposal I’ve ever photographed! And let me tell you, I was so nervous! Johnathan and I had a great game plan going into the proposal and I knew exactly the area where he was going to propose, but to anyone who’s ever proposed before, you know that you get caught up in the moment and whatever was planned going into the moment gets thrown out the window! I decided to bring Paul, my boyfriend and fellow photographer, to help me capture the moment from another angle and just for insurance reasons since it was the first proposal I’ve ever documented! I’m so glad I did because he definitely helped calm me down as I was getting super nervous waiting for Johnathan’s text saying that they left the hotel and were going for a walk along the beach to meet us.

Johnathan was so cute with the way he proposed! First, he showed Emily an adorable scrapbook he made her with images from the entire time they’ve been dating. Then he read her a beautiful quote from a book, before opening it to the section where he cut out some of the book for the ring! Inside the book, Johnathan had one of his close friends write “Will you marry me?” in beautiful calligraphy! Gahhh so so cute! And Emily’s ring is absolutely stunning! I had so much fun photographing Johnathan and Emily’s proposal in Ogunquit, ME, one of my absolute favorite places and I’m so excited to share the final images from this beautiful moment!
