These two Pennsylvania high school sweethearts have such a special place in my heart!! I seriously can’t say enough about how much I adored Chelsea and James! Unlike all my other couples, I met Chelsea and James for the first time on their wedding day. Even though I felt like I already knew them through all of our emails, phone calls, and also by following them on social media, I was definitely a little more nervous before this wedding day (but don’t get me wrong, every wedding gives me the butterflies right before I walk into the bride’s getting ready room). All of my wedding collections include an engagement session because I really value that time spent with my couples because it’s a chance for us to get to know each other and become friends! But this couple never had the chance to do their engagement session because they currently hold the LDP record for most rescheduled engagement sessions at 3! This spring/summer had been so rainy that every time we scheduled their engagement session, the rain gods made sure that it would rain! So with their wedding day approaching, Chelsea and James decided to hold off until after their wedding and schedule an “engagement session” for a fourth try or better put, a “(blank) month anniversary session”, which I already can’t wait for!
Chelsea and James are from PA (just like me! Yay PA) and they first started dating when they were 11! That relationship only lasted a month, but it’s where it all started for them! These two were destined to be together and started dating again when they were 15 and have been together ever since! Chelsea and James had an absolutely beautiful wedding day celebrating their love with lots of friends and family from PA and all over at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in Waltham, MA. And can you guess what the weather was like?? It POURED!! All day the weather was gloomy, with the rain changing from pouring to drizzling all the way through their ceremony. I never heard Chelsea or James complain once! A few months ago, I bought 10 clear umbrellas, because I was tired of always being so nervous about the rain, so I knew we were prepared if we had to do some portraits in the rain! But what do you know, the rain gods were finally on our side because as soon as we wanted to go outside to take their family, wedding party, and bride and groom portraits, we had the most beautiful light and not a rain drop in sight! We ended up using the umbrellas with Chelsea and James just for fun so that we could document how rain follows these two!!
Chelsea and James, I loved being a part of your wedding day and being surrounded by the love you have for one another! Paul and I still talk about how sweet of a couple you two were and how much fun we had hanging out with you both all day! Thank you so much for letting us into your lives to document your wedding day! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together! 🙂
