This session is very near and dear to my heart. Chanel, the beautiful pup in these photos passed away just a few weeks after our photoshoot. Chanel had been receiving chemo treatment and she was a fighter! I could from the second I met this pup, she was strong! She was so cute during our photoshoot and it was such an honor to be able to capture her spirit. Dogs’ lives are far too short and I consider myself so lucky to have a job where I get to document how much these furry best friends mean to people, so that their spirit can continue to live on long after they do. It was such a pleasure to capture portraits of this beautiful family that Chanel belonged to. Julieanne is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and treats everyone with the most kindness I’ve ever seen. When I got to Julieanne and Bob’s home in Danvers, they greeted me with the most incredible cheese board and a champagne toast! Talk about the royal treatment! I wish every photoshoot started with cheese and champagne!

Chanel is wearing a beautiful scarf from our friends over at Tails ‘n Sails, which is how Julieanne found me. I love all of the images that we captured and it’s in moments like this that I’m reminded of what a meaningful job I have to capture not only those people, but also those pups that mean the most to us.
