Erin and Tyler are ENGAGED! Ahhh I am so so excited to share the images from this sweet surprise proposal in downtown Boston at Christopher Columbus Park. Tyler is a my good friend, Meredith’s, older brother! Meredith and I played Bates basketball together so I was so excited when Tyler reached out about photographing his proposal to Erin! This past Saturday was so much fun to be a part of and I already can’t wait to capture the next proposal! Tyler told me he was going to propose to Erin on their way to dinner and then he also arranged for all of their closest friends and family to meet them at a bar to celebrate! Way to go Tyler!!

Tyler and I met up a few days before the proposal to come up with a game plan for the big day. We did a walk-through of the area and he showed me exactly where he was planning on proposing! Now flash forward to Saturday, the day of the proposal! I met up with Meredith and her two best friends, (also Bates basketball ladies who I love and adore!!) Callie and Bri, and we all walked over from the North End get ready in our spots! I showed Meredith, Bri, and Callie where Tyler was going to propose and then they decided to do a few fake proposals themselves before hiding out of sight! Tyler texted me saying they were on their way, so I had my settings all ready to go shooting with a zoom lens so that I could stay out of sight while capturing the proposal. I finally see Erin and Tyler walking our way and they reach the spot where Tyler was going to propose, but instead of Tyler getting on one knee, I see Erin bend down! I couldn’t believe what was happening! I was certain Erin was about to propose, but it turns out, right in the exact spot where Tyler stopped her to tell her how much he loved her, Erin saw an ID on the ground. She picked it up and it was CALLIE’S!! She knew Callie and couldn’t believe that in all of Boston, she found Callie’s ID! I also couldn’t believe what was happening, but Tyler was quickly able to take the ID from Erin and go back into proposal mode! Erin was totally caught off guard and her reaction was priceless – she was so surprised and so excited!! Especially when Tyler pointed over to me, Erin had no idea the whole thing was documented! We took some quick photos of the two of them and the whole proposal group, but it was one of the coldest and windiest days of the winter, so we all went to the Sail Loft to get warm and have a celebratory glass of champagne!
