Happy belated Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Ever since moving to Boston, I’ve always wanted to attend the Lilac Festival at the Arnold Aboretum and for some reason, every year something comes up and I’ve never made it. Plus, lilacs are my mom’s favorite flower so even though I live far from home and can’t see my mom on Mother’s Day, I’ve always thought that would be the best way to feel like I’m with her! But this year, I made it! Not intentionally, but I made it! I scheduled my spring mini sessions for the Saturday before the Mother’s Day Lilac Festival because I knew I wanted to have the gorgeous lilacs as a background, but I wanted to avoid a lot of the business that I knew would be Mother’s Day at the Arboretum. However, with the forecasted rainfall for Sunday, the event was moved to Saturday! So needless to say, my mini sessions ended up taking place on probably what is the busiest day of the year at the Arnold Arboretum!! But, the lilacs were in full bloom and they looked absolutely gorgeous and not to mention, they smelled amazing, so I couldn’t complain too much!
I met five amazing families for my mini sessions and this beautiful family was one of them! The session was a Mommy and me photoshoot for Christine and her son Logan, but with the whole family there, we had to snap a few of the group as well! Logan was such a little cutie in his nantucket red pants and striped blue and white sweater! He looked straight out of a magazine! And not to mention his adorable blue eyes! I always love mini sessions because I get to meet so many new families all in one day. I only offer mini sessions twice a year – once in the spring and once in the fall so if you’re looking to update your family portraits, stay tuned around those times of the year to see when announcements are made! And with that, introducing Christine, Logan, Liam, and Ollie – the first family from my mini sessions!
