This session might have been on the absolute hottest day of the summer. We haven’t had many extremely hot days and this was definitely the hottest! It was in the high 90s and was so humid the entire time, but this family were such troopers! They powered through those extreme temperatures without complaining. I’m so grateful for their attitudes, because I love the images we captured of them at James Hayes Park in the South End.
James Hayes Park is such a local hidden gem in the South End that not many people know about. It has quickly become one of my favorite locations for family sessions for so many reasons. There’s an adorable garden in the middle that is always so well-manicured. It’s surrounded by weeping willows that photograph so beautifully, especially when the light hits them just right! There are benches all around it, which are perfect for family photos. The best part of the park is that there’s a playground for the kids to play on once the shoot is over! The playground works as the best incentive to get kids to pose for a few extra photos before playing on the playground! Brooke and Chris have two beautiful daughters that I loved being able to photograph. Ginny who’s just under 2 years old and Nora who was only 1 month old! Nora’s cute little fingers and toes are just too much! She and Ginny were such champs in the heat. Brooke and Chris live in the South End so it was even more special photographing their first set of family portraits in their neighborhood. We even took a few right outside their door so that they always have those memories. I had so many favorites from this family session at James Hayes Park, so scroll to see all of them below.
