I’ve always dreamt of photographing dogs all over the United States and with this session, my dream is slowly starting to come true! When I was in Nashville back in April, I posted about being there on instagram and much to my surprise, ended up scheduling a shoot! Click here to see the CUTEST Greater Swiss Mountain dog! As soon as I knew the dates I would be in Washington DC, I posted on my instagram again to see if anyone was interested in a shoot. I’m so glad I did because I met two of the most adorable rescue pups named Remi and Momo for a sunrise shoot! Adding these two DC dogs to the LDP Dog Pack officially spreads the pack to DC! 

Shooting at sunrise is the perfect time if you want to be at one of the DC monuments. They are so crowded in the evening, as I found out with this shoot, so I was thrilled when Kendra was up for meeting that early for her dog shoot! We met at the Jefferson Memorial, which was unfortunately under construction. We had no idea about this before arriving that morning, but we rolled with it! The steps of the memorial were beautiful and the area around the monument was as well. the Thomas Jefferson Monument also had a great view of the Washington Monument, so we definitely snapped a few shots with that in the background! 

Also, huge shout out to Kendra’s sister, Victoria, for being such a trooper and getting up so early to help us capture beautiful portraits of Remi and Momo. While Momo was obsessed with chasing the birds and squirrels, Remi had us cracking up as she rolled around the entire shoot. Every time we wanted to take a picture with Kendra and Remi together, Remi kept flopping on her back! Some of these photos are the perfect example of Instagram vs. Reality but I think that’s what makes dog shoots so much fun! Dogs are so unpredictable and I love being able to capture their quirky personalities for a living!

I had such a blast at this DC dog session and will definitely be posting on my instagram for any future travel dates. It’s so fun exploring new cities and taking pictures of adorable dogs along the way! Here are my favorites of these two DC pups!
