This Castle Island engagement session is giving me all the feels today. I miss my job. I miss my camera. I miss setting my alarm for sunrise sessions. I miss being able to photograph all my couples. I miss meeting new people and being able to capture their love for one another. And don’t even get me started on how much I miss all of your pups! Looking back through all my images makes my heart hurt for all of the couples, families, and dogs whose sessions we’ve had to skip so far this year. Not knowing when this is all going to end is definitely really daunting, but one of the things that’s been helping me is looking back through all of my images of happy, beautiful couples like the two featured in this session.
Kristen and Mitch live in Texas and were just in town for one weekend back in early March. This was right at the beginning stages of all the changes being made surrounding coronavirus. We practiced safe social distancing (even though I instinctually went in for a hug at first)! We met at sunrise for their Castle Island engagement session and it was a gorgeous morning! The wind on the water was definitely chilly, but it was initially calling for rain that morning so we were happy it was only a little windy. Kristen and Mitch are (fingers crossed) getting married at Newport Beach House, one of my new favorite venues, later this year (click here to see Lauren + Ryan’s wedding there last year).
These two cuties met back at Bates College and have been together ever since! I love when fellow Batesies find me and trust me with photographing their love. It’s honestly one of the greatest joys of my job photographing fellow Bobcats. Click here and here to see two more Bates College sweethearts I’ve had the honor of photographing!
