Ever since starting my business 3 years ago, it has been really important to me to give back to the community that has helped me grow. I wouldn’t ever have been able to take my wedding and dog photography business full-time this year if it weren’t for the kindness I’ve been offered from my clients, vendor friends, dog business owners, and basically everyone I’ve met throughout this journey. Owning a business when you don’t know anything about business, let alone photography, can be really challenging and I am so so grateful for all the help and encouragement I’ve been given. So each year, I’ve committed to donating a certain number of portrait sessions to be auctioned off at charity fundraisers and it has been such a joy! I’ve met some really incredible people through these donations and Kate and Rick are two of them!

I knew I was going to love Kate when we were exchanging emails planning for her dog session at M Street Beach. I was telling her about my friend For the Love of Paws who was going to help us out at her session, but I accidentally linked this delicious dinner recipe which I was making that evening! Rick was just as awesome as Kate and not to mention, these two were so easy to photograph! I’m not sure I gave them one posing direction – they were just being super cute together the whole time! Then you add in their lovable pup Callie in her beautiful Tails ‘N Sails scarves and it’s the most adorable family! Callie was adopted from Brown Dog Coalition & Rescue and has found the perfect home with Kate and Rick. You can tell just how loved she is in these photos and if these aren’t enough, you should definitely go follow Callie on instagram to see all of her adventures! @calliethecitymutt.

We had such a beautiful evening for photos with the whole beach to ourselves! Which was a good thing because Danielle, the owner of For the Love of Paws, took Callie for a few runs during our session to help get a little bit of her energy out and so that I could take a few pictures of just Kate and Rick! Danielle was an absolute rockstar and we couldn’t have done this session without her! Anyone looking for someone to watch your dog during your wedding or photoshoot, Danielle is your girl! Thanks Danielle for helping make this shoot such a success! I’m so excited to share all of my favorites from this adorable dog session!

If you work for a charity and are looking for portrait session for an event in 2019, please always feel free to reach out! Don’t hesitate to reach out because I was fully booked for charitable donations for 2018 by March of this year. Looking forward to hearing from you!
