Now that the holidays are officially over and cards have all been delivered, I am so excited to share images from our Christmas in the City mini sessions in December with Tails & Sails and 2 Dogs Treats! This was a 2-day event in the Charlestown Navy Yard with a beautifully curated holiday scene! Each family received a 10 minute photoshoot, 5 final images, a monogrammed scarf for their pup, and a bag of 2 Dogs Chicken Treats! On our first day of the event, we had the most beautiful lighting, so we were able to shoot right on the dock in the Navy Yard (even though some of the pups were scared to walk down the ramp, it worked out beautifully!). And for the second day, there was a snowfall that happened the day before, which made the scene even more picture perfect for the holidays! With the high winds and bright sun, however, we decided to move the event to the dog park in the Navy Yard and away from the dock in fear of the tree falling into the water! I had so much fun collaborating with Tails & Sails and 2 Dogs Treats, two amazing and not to mention, my favorite dog businesses in Boston, and I am beyond thrilled with how the event turned out! There were so many favorites from all the mini sessions, it was hard to narrow them down for this blog post, so I decided to limit myself to just 2 images from each mini! Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom so you don’t miss a single pup in their adorable scarf!
I want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to a few people for making this event a success! First, thank you to all the amazing families, couples, and pups that came from near and far to this event in the Charlestown Navy Yard! It was so wonderful meeting all of you! I had a blast during each session and because it was jam-packed in 10 minutes, I just wish I had more time to get to know everyone!! But from the bottom of our hearts at LDP, Tails & Sails, and 2 Dogs Treats, thank you to all the families for being as excited as we were about this event and booking up every time slot for the two full days of mini sessions! I hope to see a lot of you again at the end of this year for Round 2 of Christmas in the City Minis!!
I also want to thank Christina, my partner in crime and the owner of Tails & Sails! Every time I work with Christina, I am more and more in awe of her work ethic! She is so passionate, so organized, and so detail-oriented – she singlehandedly brought our whole Christmas in the City vision to life! She created the most beautiful scene that was classy, timeless, and it was 100% the experience we envisioned for all of our clients! She is also a master of getting dogs to sit and help get their attention on the camera and I’m pretty sure she should start another side business as a dog trainer! Plus, on top of everything else, she made the most beautiful monogrammed scarves for 22 families! If you don’t already have a Tail & Sails scarf, you definitely need to go get one! Check her out on Instagram, Facebook, and Etsy! She’s the absolute sweetest and one of my favorite people in Boston!
Lastly, I want to thank our other partner in this event, Christian, the co-founder of 2 Dogs Treats! In addition to providing a delicious bag of chicken treats for every attendee, Christian was our right-hand man on our second day of the event. With some unexpected winds causing the tree to be a little less stable than desirable, I asked Christian to crouch down behind the tree and hold it steady for the first few mini sessions of the day, and he did so without a single complaint AND you can’t see him in any photos!! You’d never even know he was there and honestly, I started to forget he was back there too! Christian completely saved the event and I am beyond grateful for his willingness step into whatever role we needed him for that day! And not to mention, he even treated Christina and me to hot chocolate when we needed it most to thaw out after a few hours of shooting in 30 degree weather! If you haven’t let your dog try 2 Dogs Treats yet, you definitely need to treat your pup to a bag! They have all different flavors, so be sure to check them out on Instagram, Facebook, and their Website for purchasing any of their products!
And now, scroll to see all the adorable families, couples, and pups that made it out to the event!!
