Chatham Bars Inn Wedding

This Chatham Bars Inn wedding took place on one of the most beautiful Fall days you could ever envision in New England. You never know what will happen with New England weather, especially in the Fall, but the weather gods were on our side on this October day. It was the perfect amount of crisp and slightly overcast which is truly a photographer’s DREAM! This was my first time photographing a Chatham Bars Inn wedding and I already can’t wait to be back. It has the most perfect coastal Cape Cod views as a backdrop for portraits, the ceremony, and cocktail hour. Plus, the Inn itself had beautiful stairs for larger groups like the wedding party. The dunes and tall grass were simply picture perfect making me want to take photos in every direction I looked! To say that I am slightly obsessed with all of their bride and groom portraits would be an understatement.

Val + Heath’s engagement session was in Beacon Hill, which provided a nice contrast to their coastal Cape Cod wedding. They traded in urban city vibes for a soft, timeless design planned perfectly by McM events of The Perfect Plan. The stunning florals included lots of whites, greens, some blues. Maple and Sadie, Val + Heath’s dogs, even made a grand appearance for some portraits on the beach. I’d say they crushed their 10 minutes of fame and I had to include a few of my favorite photos of them with their now married parents! I also loved that Val did an outfit change mid-way through the reception and I LOVED the short dress and custom sneakers she wore! It will always be a yes from me to switch into a surprise second dress! You only get married once so why not get two dresses! Everything about this day was absolutely perfect and I am so excited to finally share it on the blog.

Val and I overlapped at Bates College so when she reached out to photograph her wedding, I was beyond honored! I truly never envisioned just how many sweet moments that this job would allow me to be a part of, but having the trust to capture your friend’s wedding means so much to me. I had such a blast this entire day and cannot say enough amazing things about how wonderful it was to work with Val + Heath. Cheers to the most perfect day to have a wedding at the Chatham Bars Inn and cheers to a lifetime of happiness Val + Heath!
